Pret A Manger launches new healthy soup range
Pret announced that it will be updating its entire soup range with the introduction of nine healthy new options.
All soups in the range will be dairy-free, made without any gluten ingredients, and under 250 calories. The vegetarian soups are also vegan-friendly.
Taking the full range up to 12, three Pret favourites will remain in the range; Chicken, Broccoli & Brown Rice, Chicken, Edamame & Ginger and South Indian Tomato. They will be joined by:
Souper Tomato Soup, £3.25
A rich and flavoursome soup, each pot combines super-ripe plum tomatoes which have been chopped and simmered with crushed tomatoes, diced tomatoes, onion, celery, carrots and a rich tomato puree. The tomatoes are seasoned with olive oil and a touch of oregano. Vegan. Cals 201, Fat 12.4g, Sat Fat 1.7g.
“No Cream” Cream of Chicken Soup, £3.25
A naturally creamy soup made without any actual cream! The soup combines celeriac, fennel and cauliflower, which are simmered with generous chunks of shredded British chicken, celery and chicken stock. The soup is flavoured with parsley, sage, rosemary and bay leaf. Cals 140, Fat 7.8g, Sat Fat 1.3g.
Roasted Pumpkin Soup, £3.25
Smooth, sweet chunks of roasted pumpkin are simmered with finely diced red peppers, carrot, onion and celery. The soup is finished with white beans, a drizzle of Canadian maple syrup, lemon juice and a sprinkle of thyme. Vegan. Cals 152, Fat 4.8g, Sat Fat 0.7g.
Lemon Chicken Soup, £3.25
A fragrant Mediterranean recipe made with tender, shredded British chicken thigh and Herbes de Provence. The chicken is slow-cooked with lemon zest and juice, chickpeas, kale, chopped fresh tomatoes and basil. Cals 159, Fat 3.0g, Sat Fat 0.7g.
Tuscan Bean Soup, £3.25
This hearty soups begins with onion, celery and carrot slowly sautéing in a pan. Next come borlotti beans, red pepper tapenade and roughly sliced cherry tomatoes along with a sprig of rosemary and a pinch of toasted fennel seeds. The soup is finished with chickpeas, quinoa and shredded kale. Vegan. Cals 156, Fat 4.9g, Sat Fat 0.5g.
Coconut Chicken Curry Soup, £3.25
This soup combines ground curry spices gently stewed in coconut milk with butternut squash, onions and tomatoes. The flavoursome base is met with roughly chopped new potatoes, gungo peas, brown rice, turmeric, mustard, ginger puree, lime juice and diced British chicken thigh. Cals 248, Fat 12.9g, Sat Fat 2.9g.
Smoky Chicken & Bean, £3.25
