Pret's first vegan cookie to spring into shops
The brand will introduce its new range of salads, baguettes, and cookie on April 17.
The spring menu includes a variety of options for meat eaters, vegetarians, vegans and flexitarians, such as protein-led salads, including a lightly smoked roast salmon salad with black rice and a Buffalo Mozzarella & Pesto salad, Pret’s Protein Box, a Beef & Chimichurri Baguette and a Dark Chocolate & Almond Butter vegan cookie.
Pret's head of food development Hannah Dolan said, “We’re thrilled to be launching a new range of salads and products this spring. I’m especially excited about the vegan cookie, which combines almond butter with dark chocolate and sea salt to make the perfect afternoon treat. We’re also introducing several new ingredients to our menu for the first time, such as black rice and ancho chilli.”
Pret has also collaborated with UK start-up Chilly’s to launch a range of reusable bottles in three exclusive designs to help customers reduce the number of plastic bottles they use.
Pret CEO, Clive Schlee, blogged back in October 2017 asking customers, “What if Pret stopped selling plastic water bottles?”.
James and Tim, founders of Chilly’s, saw Clive’s blog and emailed him asking if he would be interested in collaborating with Chilly’s to make reusable bottles for customers. The new bottles will be available in 14 shops in Brighton, Manchester and London from this week before rolling out more widely later on this year. The reusable bottles feature three exclusive Pret designs: the apple robot, the cucumber snake, and the watermelon lollies.
