Pret A Manger to create 500 jobs in Ireland expansion
The first shop in Dublin will have 25 vacancies.
Pret A Manger is set to be making a huge entrance in the Irish market by opening up to 20 shops in the coming years, creating around 500 jobs.
Carebrook Partnership Limited will launch the outlets in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland under a franchise arrangement.
This summer, the first shop will open on Dawson Street in Dublin which will create 25 jobs.
"There has long been demand from our neighbours on the island of Ireland to bring Pret’s freshly prepared food and organic coffee, and now with the backing of Carebrook Partnership Ltd we’re able to do so."
Pret a Manger and Carebrook Partnership Limited have worked together for three decades and run many of Pret's stores in London.
UK and US food sector veteran Gerard Loughran, who grew up in Nenagh, Co Tipperary, owns the majority of Carebrook while Pret is owned by investment group JAB and founder Sinclair Beecham.
"Having grown up in Tipperary, and with more than two decades of experience in the hospitality and food industry, I’ve always wanted to bring Pret to Ireland and Northern Ireland, so I’m delighted that this will soon become a reality alongside my co-owner Ray, who has great connections and links to the food sector in Dublin with 25 years’ experience." said Gerard Loughran, CEO, Carebrook Partnership Ltd.
Pret announced last year that it seeks to double its size in the next five years and to launch into five new markets by the end of 2023.
Pret has expanded to different parts of the world, such as in the United Kingdom, United States, Hong Kong, France, Dubai, Switzerland, Brussels, Singapore, and Germany.
