wagamama reopens all its airport restaurants
Plus a Manchester-city inspired location at the Manchester airport.
wagamama announced the reopening of all five airport restaurants, including a brand new one at Terminal 2 Manchester, to meet the huge demand for foreign travel during international holidays.
The restaurant's Gatwick South branch was the first to return to full operations on Wednesday, March 30 after having been closed during the height of the pandemic. The brand new Manchester Terminal 2 quickly followed and opened its doors for the first time on Friday, April 1.
As of April 04, all five airport wagamama restaurants were opened and back to full operations: Gatwick South + North, Heathrow T3 + T5, and the new Manchester T2.
Alice Eagle, wagamama marketing manager, said “We are so excited to finally be able to open all of our airport restaurant locations to meet the growing demand for international travel. We have welcomed our guests to enjoy our airport exclusive breakfast, as well as our main menu for several years now in Gatwick and Heathrow, and due to demand, are excited to be opening a brand new restaurant location at Manchester Airport T2 and reopening our iconic Gatwick South restaurant.”
The Manchester restaurant, in the brand new terminal at Manchester Airport, features interior design elements inspired by the city including large neon bee-and-honeycomb-patterned wall fittings.
Meanwhile, wagamama’s Gatwick South restaurant has 179 covers and reopened with a new spring menu including the new Katsu Salad and fresh new mains and sides to enjoy before travellers fly.
Like all wagamama airport restaurants, Manchester and Gatwick South serve breakfast menu until 11am, which includes loads of vegan options. The Manchester restaurant also has an exclusive juice on the menu and an exclusive gin served with Thomas Dakin, aptly named g+t2.
In addition to the standard breakfast menu served at all wagamama locations, Heathrow Airport has introduced two new items, exclusive to the terminal: the yasai gyoza ramen – a twist on the restaurant's iconic side of gyoza, and the Bloody Samurai – the wagamama twist on a Bloody Mary.
