Here’s where Greggs could open its first 24-hour restaurant

The bakery chain is currently waiting for approval from local council chiefs.

Greggs has applied for a round-the-clock license for its restaurant near Canterbury Cathedral in Kent.

The Canterbury Cathedral is part of a UNESCO World Heritage site that attracts tourists from all over the world.

According to Greggs's licensing application to the Canterbury City Council, Greggs plans to provide a takeaway service between 11 PM and 5 AM every day of the week.

Currently, a neighbourhood McDonald’s operates a 24-hour service near the location.

Greggs previously tried to get a 24-hour service license at Leicester Square but council chiefs did not approve the bid. Greggs' drive-thru in Sittingbourne, Kent has the latest closing time at 10 PM.
