KFC partners with food distribution company to give free meals to vulnerable people

The scheme will be rolled out to the majority of its restaurants by the end of the year.

KFC will give free leftover food from restaurants to vulnerable people as part of a food redistribution collaboration.

The fast food brand teamed up with FareShare to help deliver the equivalent of more than four million meals throughout the year to local people to prevent food waste.

The programme will be adopted by the majority of KFC's outlets by the end of 2022, following a trial run in 20 diners in Essex, the Midlands, and the North-East.

Since the eight-month trial started, over 22 local community groups have received the equivalent of more than 27,500 meals via FareShare.
