Private equity TriSpan acquires stake in Mowgli restaurant group

The deal was made under the private equity’s dedicated restaurant programme.

Global private equity group TriSpan has acquired a stake in Mowgli Street Food Group under its dedicated restaurant programme Rising Stars.

Financial details of the deal, however, were not disclosed.

Under the deal, Nisha Katona, Founder of Mowgli Street Food Group, will continue to be the group’s CEO, gaining support from TriSpan and its board.

According to the deal, Nisha Katona, the founder of Mowgli Street Food Group, will continue to serve as the group’s CEO, with support from TriSpan and the board. Additionally, TriSpan European operating partner Robin Rowland will become the chair of the board whilst the existing chairperson, Dame Karen Jones, will remain on the board as a non-executive director.

Mowgli first opened its doors in 2014 in Liverpool. The restaurant has since expanded to 15 sites in the UK.

The group also confirmed plans in opening new sites in Brighton, Bristol and Edinburgh this year.
