Costa Coffee puts barista through royal butler training
The baristas taught skills in napkin folding, afternoon tea serving techniques and silver service.
Costa Coffee has prepared for the coronation by putting their baristas through Barista Butler School to learn the proper etiquette required for service fit for a King.
Completing their uniforms with traditional white butler gloves, the baristas learnt all about silver service, formal afternoon tea service and napkin folding should His Majesty stop by for his rumoured favourite toasted lunch choice.
Research from Costa Coffee reveals that less than half of us (45%) hold our fork in the left hand when eating, and over three-quarters (77%) do not follow the ‘6:30 clock face’ rule when finished.
This comes as Costa Coffee, the Nation’s Favourite Coffee Shop*, launches its new Coronation Chicken Toastie, putting its own spin on a classic to celebrate the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III. Featuring delicious roast chicken with an exquisite blend of coronation spiced bechamel sauce, mango chutney, apricots and sultanas in coronation spiced cheese-topped bread, the new Coronation Chicken Toastie is truly the crown jewel in Costa Coffee’s renowned toastie range.
Costa Coffee’s launch of the Coronation Chicken Toastie plays homage the classic to British cuisine, which is loved by many as a lunchtime staple, but also has a long history in the UK. The original coronation chicken filling was first created in honour of Queen Elizabeth II’s coronation over 70 years ago and has stood the test of time as a popular filling ever since.
The Coronation Chicken Toastie is available from now until the end of May in Costa Coffee stores nationwide.
