More than 8% of workforce left hospitality sector between August and September

It’s the highest percentage of quitters since 15.6% left their roles in the pandemic.

The Fourth discovered that more hospitality staff workers are leaving the industry since the beginning of the pandemic.

Latest data showed that 8.3% of the workforce left the sector between  August and September. 

“That’s the highest percentage of leavers since 15.6% of people left their roles in March 2020,” it said.

The rate is being driven by workers leaving jobs in pubs (10.8%) and restaurants (9.8%), with quick serve restaurants (8.1%) and hotels (6.5%) posting a slightly slower rate of departure.
