Over half of late-night takeaway customers spend over £50, research says
hungryhouse.co.uk has looked in to one of the UK’s guiltiest pleasures of late night takeaway to reveal how ordering habits change after midnight.
The online ordering platform recently released their 'One Tap Re-order’ feature, which allows customers to order the most recent purchase at the touch of a button to speed up the ordering process in the early hours.
From those surveyed, one out of two ordered takeaway after a night out, 32% revealed they had fallen asleep after ordering, and 15% had food arrive that they didn't order. One out of four of these people admitted to eating it anyway.
The most popular takeaway food after midnight is pizza, followed by kebabs, Chinese food, Indian food, and burgers.
On average, people spend £20-£30 on late-night takeaways. However, 60% of those surveyed admitted to spending over £50.
