
QSR space clocked 44% growth in YouTube views over the past two years: report
Audiences are increasingly craving breakfast content.
The quick service restaurant (QSR) space has clocked a dramatic 44% growth in views over the past two years in YouTube as audiences flock to the platform for food reviews, challenges and recipes, according to video advertising software company Pixability.
The report also reveals that the food and beverage industry is growing faster in views at 46%, compared to gaming (40%) and auto industries (40%).
Subway, Burger King and Jack in the Box all saw three times the growth in views in 2018 on YouTube, with all three being part of the most-followed QSR brands across digital video platforms.
Audiences, notably, are increasingly craving breakfast content as annual views of breakfast content has increased by 78% since 2016.
Pixability also says that 85% of views in the QSR space on YouTube comes from influencer content, with brands and publishers making up the remaining 15%. Consumers also want long-form content when it comes to food, with 50% of users viewing video content that is over 10 minutes long.
When it comes to positive sentiment, Chipotle leads with the most share of likes on YouTube.
