Restaurant prices are too high: majority of UK consumers
Two in five said they are getting less value from restaurants.
With the rising inflation, 60% of UK consumers said the restaurant prices are too high, a Revenue Management Solutions survey showed.
Also, one in two or 46% believed that the industry is worse off in 2022 than last year despite the recent reopening from lockdown.
“The continued rise in food, fuel and energy prices has made UK consumers extremely nervous and naturally value conscious,” said Revenue Management Solutions.
Almost two in five or 39% said they are also receiving less value from restaurants.
Meanwhile, 65% of respondents said these rising costs were justified because of the increase in minimum wage and inflation whilst 46% said an increase would aid in restaurant’s profit.
