UK residents spend ₤21.29 per delivery order: study

The busiest time for delivery orders is from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. every Friday.

A report showed that Brits spend more than ₤20 per delivery order, with the average amount spent still rising throughout the day.

Delivery service options provider, Otter, showed in a 2022 study on food delivery habits that every Friday from 7:00 – 8:00 PM is the busiest time for food delivery orders.

New Year’s Day has been the busiest day for food delivery in the UK this year.

The data, which was collected from over 5 million online orders during the first half of 2022, also suggested that strict lockdowns “have major implications for alcohol delivery, helping alcohol soar to the fourth most common item ordered behind Indian Food, Burgers, and Pizza.”

“Our primary goal at Otter is to provide efficient solutions that help restaurants better serve their customers and ultimately grow their business,” said Matthew Gillet, UK General Manager at Otter, in a statement.

“The food delivery business is evolving at a rapid pace, and we hope that this data can empower restaurants to make more effective, informed decisions for their own delivery strategy,” Gillet added.
