Jollibee taps TikTok to search for menu taste testers

It recently opened its first store in Wales.

Jollibee has turned to TikTok to search for four taste testers of its menu, paying them £1,000 each.

Customers who wanted to apply were required to submit a video on the growing social media platform showing why they should be a taste tester. Applications ended last 18 July whilst voting will open up to the public on 26 July to decide the four winners out of the 10 shortlisted entries.

The successful applicants will be hosted at the brand’s flagship London restaurant at Leicester Square on 17 August and will also be given a £1,000 cash prize each.

“TikTok has become a digital destination to discover new food options and try new recipes, so we know there is an audience passionate about food on the platform. When we started talking about finding fried chicken lovers to taste and give us feedback on our menu, choosing TikTok felt like the natural choice. We get tagged daily in all kinds of deliciously creative videos so we’re confident it’s the right place,” Jollibee Europe marketing head Ashlee Campbell said.

The Philippine-headquartered fast food giant also announced the opening of its first Wales store.
