LEON urges rethinking of food consumption with digital platform launch
Podcasts, videos and interviews focussed on the role food plays with people will be showcased.
LEON has launched a new content channel aimed to showcase the role of food, featuring established and emerging presenters.
The new digital platform combines a refreshed consumer website for its restaurant, grocery and delivery businesses with content publishing.
Dubbed “LEON Presents”, the chain collaborated with a number of personalities to create a variety of podcasts, films and articles “designed to inform, inspire and entertain.”
TV personality and model Daisy Lowe will present ‘The Lowe Down’, a series which looks at the lesser-known environmental issues associated with everyday consumer activities.
Food journalist Gilly Smith has a podcast series called ‘How To Eat To Save The Planet’, dealing with food consumption and the employment of “forgotten” production practices that yielded food higher in nutrition with lower environmental impact.
Chef, entrepreneur and YouTube personality John Quilter, meanwhile, will feature stories behind some of the nation’s favourite foods and LEON’s best-selling dishes.
Jack Burke will be fronting LEON Presents’ marquee launch series “London Jack”, which sees the presenter trying his hand at various jobs with LEON’s suppliers.
The website will also present stories that cover some of the initiatives LEON has activated during COVID-19, including FeedNHS and Feed Britain.
“Our content's there to engage, inspire and entertain and hopefully change the way we think about food. Food is a powerful thing and can really create positive change,” LEON founder and CEO John Vincent said.
