Deliveroo eyes bigger family share with cheaper subscription service
It also experienced a surge in demand for its whitelabel Signature service.
Deliveroo announced the launch of a cheaper subscription service aimed at families, offering unlimited free delivery on orders over £25 for a £3.49 monthly fee.
The firm’s new Plus For Family initiative sits alongside their existing Plus subscription that launched in 2017 and gives customers free delivery on orders over £10 for £11.95 a month.
Deliveroo says the service is designed to help families, couples and group households reduce costs on larger orders. Users signing up will also get access to exclusive offers and deals from restaurants that are part of the programme, which are available to all Plus members.
“At Deliveroo our mission is to become the definitive food company. We know our customers are ordering more frequently and ordering larger baskets, whether that’s ordering dinner when they work late or getting groceries conveniently delivered to their front door,” Deliveroo UK and Ireland chief business officer Carlo Mocci said.
Deliveroo also experienced a surge in demand for its whitelabel Signature service, which enables customers to order delivery, pick up and table service via restaurants’ own websites and apps. It aims to have 50 new restaurant partners signed up to Signature by the end of the month.
Operators using the service include Nando’s, PizzaExpress, Wagamama, Wingstop, Patty & Bun and The Athenian.
