Greggs trials "click-and-collect" service

The new service allows customers to pre-order and collect a breakfast order through the Greggs Collect Manchester app.

Food-on-the-go retailer Greggs has launched a new breakfast click and collect trial in Manchester's city centre.

Trialed in three Manchester shops, the service enables customers to order breakfast days or even minutes in advance of collection through the Preoday-powered Greggs Collect Manchester app.

"The breakfast click and collect trial is the latest initiative we’re looking at to help make life easier for our customers by offering them quick and convenient access to our great tasting products during the morning rush hour," Roisin Currie, Retail and People Director at Greggs, said. “Our strong customer base in Manchester makes it an ideal place to trial this service, which is designed to make life more convenient for customers in a busy inner city."

Greggs is open to roll out the service to other locations if the trial is successful.

“It’s been a pleasure working with Greggs on its new breakfast click and collect service, providing technology we hope will underpin a wider digital ordering programme after this initial trial in Manchester. The company’s strong brand and the city’s convenience-craving community leaves us in no doubt that its customers will be excited to give it a try,” Nick Hucker, CEO of Preoday, added:
