Pret A Manger exploring click and collect
The trial will run in five London shops.
Pret A Manger is trialing a new click and collect service starting this week.
From 16 June, the company will begin a click and collect trial in five London shops, available exclusively through Deliveroo.
Pret is currently testing different points in shops for pick up, including a ‘hatch’ system that will not require customers to enter the shop.
After the initial trial, Pret aims to extend the click and collect service to more shops over the coming months.
“As more of our customers change their daily routines, we’ve been looking at how Pret can meet their needs,” Pret digital transformation director Alex Chisholm said.
The company is also exploring new recipes for evening delivery for trial in a limited number of shops next month.
Pizza Express also rolled out a click and collect service at its 13 reopened restaurants.
“Our number one priority is to protect the safety and wellbeing of our teams and customers. Having undertaken a successful delivery-only trial in 13 of our restaurants, we’re pleased to be rolling this out further to click-and-collect customers in the same 13 restaurants only for the time being,” Pizza Express managing director Zoe Bowley said.
Farmer J also launched a similar service at its Finsbury Avenue and Canary Wharf restaurants.
