McDonald’s looks for nominees for 'Football Mum of the Year' award
For the mums who go the extra mile and dedicate their time to their own little football players.
The fast food chain is accepting nominations on its website for the award recognizing extraordinary mums everywhere.
“Does a mum you know spend all weekend driving scores of children to matches or managing the kits of their child’s entire club? Have they grown an entire club from the ground up so their children can play locally or set up a disability team so that kids of every ability can enjoy playing football? This award is an opportunity to recognise their selflessness,” the company said.
The winner will be presented with their award at a ceremony on the 2nd August at Wembley Stadium by Football Mum of the Year ambassador and mum-of-two Coleen Rooney.
“I’m so excited about this award. I live in a football-mad house and know how much goes into just getting the kids to training and making the time to watch them play every week, so I can only imagine the amazing nominations we’re going to receive for this,” Rooney said.
“Dads tend to get the credit a lot of the time for coaching teams or teaching their kids how to play, so this award will give people a chance to shout about the hard work mums do on and off the pitch.”
