IN FOCUS: Pita Pit's Plans for the UK
In a week where Pita Pit opened two new stores, it is clear that the Canadian pita chain is on a roll. We sat down with them to find out more about their plans for the UK.
QSR: How was 2014 for Pita Pit?
2014 was a very exciting year for us! Celebrating the first anniversary of our Piccadilly Place store in Manchester, and with the opening of an additional 4 locations within London and Leeds, we are thrilled that customers are embracing and enjoying Pita Pit within their communities.
QSR: Have you had to alter your menu for the UK market?
The very core of our Brand is customisation; a philosophy which extends from how we design our menus in each country to how our customers enjoy their Pita Pit experience. Continuously building and enhancing our menu offerings, we are guided by our commitment to challenging ourselves as we translate Fresh Thinking and Healthy Eating all over the world. Our goal is simple, connecting with our customers with menu options that satisfy their existing flavour profiles and sharing elements from around the world to bring variety and something new to every country.
QSR: What's your most popular pita?
That’s a tough question as our customers definitely have their personal favourites. Our Spicy Chicken, Grilled Halloumi and Falafel continue to be our most popular items. With endless combinations available; from our fresh ingredients to our tasty spreads and sauces, our customers are enjoying building and customising a different Pita or Salad every time they visit us.
QSR: What was the inspiration behind the Fittest Selections menu? How have customers taken to it?
We are seeing an increasing number of QSRs focus on low-cal menu items. Will Fittest Selections form a permanent offering?
Our Fittest Selections are simply a way to highlight our existing and future menu items. Recognizing our customers want to quickly identify which of our menu items best suit them, we use our Pita Pit Icons; symbols on our menu to easily identify not only our Fittest Selections, but also our Vegetarian and Vegan options. With our promise of bringing Fresh Thinking and Healthy Eating to our customers, we have received great feedback on the variety of our healthy menu options, and how easy it is to choose them.
QSR: What are you plans for Pita Pit in 2015? How many stores do you plan to open in the UK? What locations are top of your list?
2015 is already shaping up to be a big year for us! During the month of March, we are excited and proud to be opening our Deansgate store in Manchester and our East Shopping Center in London and Hounslow. As the year unfolds, we are looking forward to bringing Pita Pit to an additional 10 locations throughout the UK.
