PizzaExpress closing down inaugural ZA site
The pizza chain said it will convert the concept’s site back into a pizzeria.
PizzaExpress has announced its plan to shut its ZA fast casual concept in Fenchurch Place after nine months of trading.
“We remain committed to the ZA format and brand, continue to refine the proposition and currently plan to open a brand new site more suited to ZA in 2020,” PizzaExpress UK and Ireland managing director Zoe Bowley said in a statement.
The pizza chain said it will convert the test site back to a pizzeria next year in part of its Future Express programme, which has sought the opening of five new sites and 20 refurbished stores this year.
