Costa Coffee renames its cup sizes

The coffee chain will introduce a tiny new “small” cup.

Costa Coffee has renamed the sizes of its cups after introducing a tiny new "small" cup which contains 227ml of drink.

The chain’s old "small" cup (340ml) is now being called "medium", the old "medium" (455ml) is now the "large" whilst the old large (568ml) is now classified as "extra large".

The changes affect takeaway cups as well as the ones Costa uses in-store. Prices for the renamed cup sizes also increased by 10p.

The chain currently has 2,467 shops in the UK.
