Pret launches its first reusable cup

Continuing their bid to eliminate waste, Pret has officially launched its first reusable cup.
Made from light-weight sustainable bamboo fibre, the cup has a re-sealable, no-drip lid while featuring the iconic Pret star on a cream background. The cup was made in partnership with Ecoffee Cup.
This was preceded by doubling the discount on using reusable coffee cups last January. Since it was introduced, Pret said they had seen a “ten-fold increase” in reusable cup use with over 85,000 drinks now served in a reusable every week. Pret’s customers are reportedly on track to save 4 million disposable cups this year.

The company hopes the new cup will inspire more customers to make the switch.
“We introduced a market leading discount of 50p for using a reusable cup at the start of the year. This increased usage ten-fold which has amazed us all. I’m hoping our own cup will encourage more customers to bring one in. An organic filter coffee for 49 pence must be the best value cup of coffee in the UK,” Pret CEO Clive Schlee said.
Pret’s reusable cup is 12oz (355ml) and costs £10.
