Chicken Town to close after a £300k loan from the local Labour council

Haringey Council in North London topped up their loan with non-repayable grants of £90,000 and £40,000.

According to The Sun, the shop claimed to sell healthy fried chicken, but it was closed on Sundays and Mondays and shut for lunch Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays — unlike the nearby KFC.

News that it shuts for good in a week just two months after The Sun revealed that rival takeaways are calling for a probe into the council’s backing.
