FPG Foods doubles KFC UK&I footprint with acquisition of 17 restaurants
The company said it aims to expand to 50 outlets by 2030.
KFC UK & Ireland and franchise operator FPG Foods (FPG) have reached an agreement under which FPG will acquire 17 KFC restaurants in London and southern England.
The deal will double FPG's UK restaurant portfolio, and the company said it aims to expand to 50 outlets by 2030.
The agreement follows KFC's 2025 growth strategy for the UK and Ireland, which includes plans to open additional restaurants over the next decade.
The company has said the strategy is expected to generate £1.5b in economic impact across the two markets.
Expansion plans are expected to involve investment from both KFC and its franchise partners.
In September 2025, franchisee Gastronomy announced plans to more than double its number of KFC restaurants by 2030.
KFC's most recent earnings report showed UK system sales increased 9% in the first quarter.
The company attributed recent sales growth in part to demand for its limited-time Pickle Mania menu range.
