Kanuka to open store in Hertfordshire
The new tea brand will launch this month with its first tea house in St Albans, Hertfordshire on 15th February and an online range via its website: www.kanukatea.com.
The tea house showcases a chic pigeon-holed counter offering over 40 loose teas where customers can view, smell and learn about each of the teas on offer, as well as purchase pouches and chrome caddies to take home. A light menu will also be on offer to complement customers chosen teas, from raw, gluten free produce to cakes.
John Hesler and Bethany Hesler, the owners, said, "We look forward to showcasing and sharing everything we have discovered over the last two years. Tea is growing in popularity and has so many positive attributes to explore and we want to educate people on the wide variety available. We have ambitious plans to expand following the success of the launch in St Albans.”
Kanuka will offer an extensive range of caffeinated and herbal teas from around the globe, organised into three categories: classic, well-being, and naughty. Examples include:
Classic: Considered the champagne of teas, Kanuka’s Darjeeling is grown at altitudes of 6,800 ft in Happy Valley, West Bengal – Darjeeling’s second oldest tea estate. Labelled as medium caffeine, it has an aromatic and mildly sweet taste.
Wellbeing: Herbal blend, Brazilian Mate Focus, known in the South American region as ‘beverage of the Gods’, is a naturally stimulating blend with a subtle sweet and smoky flavour.
Naughty: The caffeine-free Strawberries and Cream infusion uses four fruits with rosehip and hibiscus blossoms for a touch of tartness, mellowed with just a drop of cream.
Kanuka will also offer its own special infusion; Assam Golden Tip. Taking from the Assam region of India renowned for fine teas since the 1800s, this blend uses two loose-leaf teas; the main an excellent quality flush blended with large, hand-rolled golden tips of the highest quality.
Gift items and tea accessories will also be available, from functional teapots and strainers through to gift sets both in-store and online.
