Subway to roll out 12 sites in the South West by the end of 2018
The openings will create over 120 new jobs across Dorset, Devon, and Cornwall.
The Subway in the south west has laid out ambitious targets for new store development, with plans to grow its portfolio of stores from 83 to 95 by the end of 2018. Operated by local franchisees, the stores across Dorset, Devon and Cornwall already provide over 800 jobs for the region. The new stores will create a further 120 jobs, as well as provide opportunity for entrepreneurial individuals in the area to become Subway franchisees.
Subway regional development agent Kevin Graham said, “We have exciting plans to grow the Subway brand across Dorset, Devon and Cornwall this year, so I am really keen to hear from local people who have the ambition and drive to own their own business and become a Subway franchisee.
Graham added, “We believe there is still plenty of room to grow the Subway brand across the south west, and will be opening four new stores in Dorset, Devon and Cornwall respectively this year. We plan to have 122 stores across the south west by 2022 – that means a further 270 jobs for the region on top of the 120 we are creating this year.
“To succeed, we need the right people, with the right blend of team work, leadership and work ethic to become new franchisees and help us to deliver our ambitious growth target. Location is also key - we're constantly seeking new opportunities in new locations across the region, from high streets to retail parks, and non-traditional locations, such as petrol forecourts and convenience stores.”
The Subway brand has recently unveiled a new Fresh Forward store décor. This modern format offers customers an enhanced brand experience, with clean lines and customer-focused touches, such as digital menu boards and free-to-use charging ports. The first store in the south west to carry the new décor will be opening on a forecourt location in Bear Cross this spring. A further 11 new stores will feature the fresh look, including sites in Wimborne, Portland, Sherborne and Bournemouth. Six existing Subway® stores will also be converted to the new branding.
