Nando's threatens to file lawsuit over copyright infringement

The chain is concerned an eatery called Fernando’s, in Reading, may be trying to mimic it by using similar cockerel and chilli images.

According to Metro, Fernando’s director Asam Aziz swore this is not the case after receiving a letter from Nando’s laywers accusing it of infringing on its intellectual property. He claimed he actually got the idea for the restaurant from TV dating show Take Me Out, where couples take a trip to the island of Fernando’s, in Tenerife.

He said he was meeting intellectual property specialists next week to see where he stood.
