400 delivery staff votes to go on strike

This staff works for fast food restaurants such as KFC, Burger King and Pizza Hut.

Around 400 delivery staff are voting to go on strike over pay, the GMB union said.

The staff who voted to go on strike are employed by Best Food Logistics, a division of supermarket giant Tesco. They service fast food restaurants such as Burger King, Wagamama, Pizza Hut, KFC, and other chains.

According to GBM, about 76% of the workers who voted in a strike ballot were in favour of industrial action.

“All these workers want is a pay deal that protects them from this crushing cost of living crisis. Now, some of the best known restaurants on the UK’s high streets will face shortages over Christmas,” GMB National Officer Nadine Houghton said.
