Chopstix to open 30 new stores in 2023
The opening will create 1,000 jobs.
Chopstix Group is opening 30 new stores in 2023 potentially creating 1,000 jobs in the UK.
According to the UK-based Asian fast-food restaurant group, the expansion was fueled by record revenues, with system sales forecast to hit over £65m by the end of FY2023, ending 23 April, an increase of over 40% vs FY2022.
Chopstix said that revenue is projected to rise even further in FY2024, with the pan-Asian restaurant group expecting system sales to hit over £90m over the next financial year, a significant landmark for a business which was founded on an initial investment of £80k.
Established in Camden Market in 2002 by entrepreneurs Sam Elia and Menashe Sadik, Chopstix celebrated its 20th-anniversary last year. The group had grown steadily in the previous two decades, before its busiest-ever year of openings in 2022, when it launched 26 new restaurants, including a first-ever holiday park location at Haven’s Craig Tara Park in Scotland. With best-in-class operational processes, new sites deliver payback on investment at an industry-leading speed.
In an exclusive interview with QSR Media, Jon Lake, Managing Director of Chopstix Group said that the group is currently planning a drive-thru concept with the new store openings.
