McDonald's and Burger King warned by ASA on putting adverts near schools
Both ads have been taken down.
McDonald’s and Burger King received a complaint from the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) on placing their adverts of the McFlurry and Whopper burger respectively 100m away from school grounds.
The owner of both adverts, advertising company JCDecaux, said that they made mistake in placing those posters. They have removed both in response to ASA’s complaints.
Products that are labelled high in fat, salt or sugar are now allowed to have their advertisements 100m away from school.
Last August, they also filed the same complaint against KFC’s Mars Krushem poster.
