Pret a Manger refunds customers following app issues

Customers complained about technical issues after a major service change.

Pret A Manger had to issue refunds to customers after a major service change had customers struggling to use the app.

In a report by the Telegraph, some Club Pret subscribers experienced difficulties in claiming their free coffees. The chain’s subscription model, which costs £30 a month, allows members to claim up to five barista-made drinks.

Because of this, Pret issued refunds to its customers.

A spokesman for Pret said: “Since we made this change in March, our team have either given refunds or applied the Club Pret discount as normal to any customers who have genuinely struggled to log in.”

The report indicated that the technical issues came up after Pret removed the option to claim free drinks through a QR code on Apple Wallet or on a smartwatch last month, forcing customers to use the Pret app directly.
