Whitbread's shareholders approve Coca-Cola's acquisition on Costa Coffee

Only 0.73% of those who voted were against the decision.

Hospitality company Whitbread PLC has announced that their shareholders has approved the proposed sale of Costa Coffee to Coca-Cola Company.

The decision was based on a poll where 117,070,152 out of 183,636,284 shareholders participated. 99.27% of those who voted were in favour of the said acquisition.

Last September, they announced that Coca-Cola will be buying Costa Coffee which is valued at £3.9 billion. The beverage company wishes to have a strong coffee platform by expanding the coffee brand.
