West Cornwall Pasty Co to compete at The World Pasty Championships
The brand, which took the title Best Traditional Pasty in 2014 and 2015, will be competing again at The World Pasty Championships hosted at The Eden Project in St Austell.
"This year we're heading back to The World Pasty Championships with two entries. One is our Cornish Pasty and the other is the winner of our Pasty Dreamers competition, The Compton Pasty," the brand said.
CORNISH PASTY
Lean skirt beef, diced with locally grown potato, turnip and onion with salt and pepper drizzled on top, wrapped up in flaky pastry made with British wheat with a hand crimped crust.
COMPTON PASTY
Pork and beef meatballs in a tomato salsa with red peppers, red onion, garlic and a touch of chorizo. Made with fresh mozzarella and Cornish Cheddar cheeses and Trewithen’s Cornish cream, all seasoned with oregano, marjoram, paprika and fennel with a mild chilli kick. Wrapped up in flaky pastry and a hand crimped crust.
The World Pasty Championships are on the 5th of March 2016.
