Dallaglio Steak & Ale crowned champion in Square Pie World Cup Final 2015
The England (steak and ale) pie won against the New Zealand mince and cheese in Square Pie’s first ‘Pie World Cup’.
Martin Dewey, Square Pie Founder said, “We’re so pleased at the response to our first ever rugby Pie World Cup! We saw rugby and pie supporters from far and wide excited to explore our exotic pie line up. Taking England out of the equation for risk of bias, my personal favourite was the Samoan Mango and Chicken, but it was great to see England take the champion title after the results in the rugby world cup. It’s just a shame the results in our restaurants weren’t reflected on the rugby pitch this year.”
The Pie World Cup saw 20 pies crafted to represent competing countries in the Rugby World Cup tournament. For every Steak and Ale Pie sold in restaurants 10p has been donated to the Dallaglio Foundation to help the hardest to reach young people become more employable through the medium of sport.
