German Doner Kebab partners with Paramount Pictures for Sumotherhood release
The film will feature a cameo of the brand’s iconic meal box.
German Doner Kebab (GDK) has partnered with Paramount Pictures for the release of ‘Sumotherhood’, directed by Adam Deacon.
Sumottherhood is a comedy about two friends in debt who decide to rob a megastar in a nightclub toilet and hold up the local bank but things inevitably don't go to plan. The movie is the sequel to Anuvahood and features a star-studded cast including Ed Sheeran, Jeremy Corbyn Jammer, Lethal B and Jennifer Saunders.
The gourmet kebab brand is also set to feature in the film, with the iconic GDK Boss Box to play a role in fuelling protagonists Riko and Kane on their journey to becoming serious “roadmen’.
To celebrate the Paramount Pictures release, GDK launched a limited edition “Sumotherhood’ Boss Box on September 27th, which is available for takeaway and delivery across all UK stores whilst stocks last.
The special edition box features ‘Sumotherhood’ visuals alongside interactive elements, as guests can scan a QR code to watch the film’s trailer.
“We are thrilled to collab with Paramount Pictures and Director Adam Deacon for his new film Sumotherhood. His first film was ‘Anuvahood’ was so culturally iconic and is still heavily discussed and relevant over a decade after release. Culture is at the heart of everything we do at GDK and has been key to our successes in the entertainment industry,” Ed Duah, Director of Brand Partnerships at German Doner Kebab said.
According to John Fletcher, Managing Director at Paramount Pictures UK, GDK is the perfect partner for the release because of the brand's deeply rooted connection with the UK culture through partnerships with some of the nation's biggest stars in the urban scene.
“We are delighted to be partnering with such an iconic fast-casual brand for ‘Sumotherhood’ and cannot wait to give the Boss Box its cinematic debut,” Fletcher said.
The brand now has over 130 restaurants in the UK alone as it continues to bring the GDK experience to more locations across the country.
