Grub Club pop-up 'Conflict Café' is back for its third year
Conflict Cafe will be returning in September, when it will be exploring the cuisines and conflicts of two more countries: Lebanon and Sri Lanka.
The Grub Club invited diners join communal tables where they are treated to a feast of traditional dishes from countries that have experienced conflict around the world.
Guests will find out more about the issues facing the country in focus by hearing from the chef and International Alert experts at brief intervals throughout the three-course meal.
This year Conflict Café is returning to the underground tunnels of House of Vans London for two weeks. First up is Lebanon week, a country that has had its cuisine enriched by being host to over a million refugees, but this has also brought with it unique and rising pressures. The focus will then shift to the delicious flavours of Sri Lanka – where International Alert first started its peacebuilding work thirty years ago.
