Costa Goes Global to Celebrate International Coffee Day, Signalling Possible New Menu Items
Costa have been trialling some novel flavours at a pop up in their Shelton Street store.
To celebrate International Coffee Day, Costa have been offering customers the opportunity to try some of their international best sellers. The flavours on offer included a jasmine cappuccino from China, a rose and almond offering and a Camel Milk latte from the Middle East, a pistachio latte from Hungary and a donut latte that has proved popular in Poland.
The coffee behemoth will also have a ‘personalisation station’ where customers are able to create their own brews choosing from different milks, flavours and coffee styles.
While the pop up is only open for two days (from Sept 28-29), the flavour profiles of some of the drinks, such as the donut latte and pistachio latte would make them very well suited to either a seasonal, or permanent launch at UK outlets. The donut latte has also been proving very popular amongst social media users.
Speaking of the pop-up, Gennaro Pellicca, Chief Coffee Taster said “We’re excited to share the unique coffee styles we serve in other markets with our customers here in London, giving them a chance get creative with the personalisation station. We’re looking forward to seeing which flavours they like the most”.
