EXCLUSIVE: Costa Discuss New Winter Menu
The new ranges will replace their autumn menu on November 1.
Costa Coffee has introduced a number of new drinks, food options, as well as coffee cup designs that aims to match the festive spirit of Christmas as winter inches closer.
Part of their new menu are vegan-friendly offerings.
“We have the Iced Fruit Slice and our classic Gluten Free Vegan Mince Tart, filled with rich, fruity mincemeat, and boasting the Good Housekeeping Institute Taste Approved endorsement," a Costa spokesperson has told QSR Media.
“Due to its popularity we’ll also be continuing the Vegan Sticky Toffee & Pecan Cookie throughout the winter months”.
The coffee chain will have new flavours of lattes and hot chocolates such as their Caramelised Orange & Cream, that comes with orange syrup, cream and caramelised orange slice.
Another flavour is Hazelnut Praline & Cream that consists of hazelnut syrup, a layer of Belgian Chocolate sauce topped with a swirl of cream and their new topping, the Crispy Chocolate Truffle Crumb.
Other additions are the Luxury Hot Chocolate and Luxury Caramel, guaranteed to be under 200 kcal.
Their classic offerings to return are Black Forest Hot Chocolate, Ginger & Cream Latte and Hot Spiced Apple.
New food options features the Pigs & Blankets Mac & Cheese, consisting of macaroni pasta with cheese sauce, Cumberland pork sausage, cheddar cheese, sweetcure bacon and spinach topped with parsley crumb.
There’s also a new range of Christmas sandwiches include Turkey and Emmenthal Shimmer Brioche, Prawn Cocktail Sandwich, Christmas Cheese Board Panini, Ham Hock and Piccalilli Sandwich, Beef and Caramelised Onion Toasted Baguette and the Ultimate Christmas Toastie.
They also have their new Gingerbread and Sticky Toffee Wreath Cake, Clementine Drizzle
Loaf Cake, Double Chocolate Yule Log, Cup Croissant with Nutella, Paul the Penguin Chocolate Cake, Father Christmas Gingerbread, Jammy Rudolph Shortcake, Gingerbread Muffin and Stollen Bar.
Costa Coffee has also released their new vegan offerings for the season. Starting off with their new Veggie Christmas Lunch Wrap which is made up of sweet potato falafel with Wensleydale & cranberry cheese and spiced plum chutney.
Other lunch options include Mozzarella and Chargrilled Arrabiata Pasta and Spiced Parsnip
Soup.
Costa Coffee also unveils the new design for their coffee cups, which will be available on October 29.
“Every Christmas since 2013 we have had fun creating a selection of designs and characters across the five cup sizes available – Cortado, Primo, Medio and Massimo. We’re excited to see the customer reaction to this year’s designs,” spokesperson said.
The range features four hues which are teal, bronze, purple and red. Characters included are a snowman, penguin, gingerbread man, Rudolph the Reindeer and Santa Claus with a snowy bauble background.
“The release of our Christmas cups truly marks the start of the festive season at Costa Coffee. We can’t wait for the new designs to hit stores and see our customers’ reactions. It never ceases to amaze us how much love there is for our limited-edition cups,” Gennaro Pelliccia, chief coffee taster at Costa Coffee, said.
“Our Christmas drinks menu will be the perfect festive match for the eye-catching designs. There are delicious new creations and old favourites for people to enjoy, as we help spread the Christmas cheer.”
Costa says that this will be the last menu change for the year.
"No further changes are planned, but there will be exciting new additions to announce in the New Year," their spokesperson said.
