EXCLUSIVE: Subway discusses the latest addition to its menu
Subway recently launched its new premium sub offering- Rotisserie-Style Chicken. The launch comes as part of its brand revitalisation campaign which encourages consumers to ‘Keep Discovering’. QSR Media went to find out more about the new product.
QSR Media: How is the rotisserie chicken different from your current chicken offering?
Rotisserie-Style Chicken looks and tastes different to our existing offering due to the way it is prepared. It is marinated, seared and cooked in its own juices then hand-torn in-store.
QSR Media: Is there a difference in the pricing of the regular chicken vs this rotisserie-style chicken?
The Rotisserie-Style Chicken Sub starts from £3.80 for a Six-inch Sub. Prices can vary in each store as each Subway store is individually owned and operated and franchisees. It is also part of the Premium Range which is why it may be seen as more expensive.
QSR Media: How long has the product been in development for?
The US started innovating this product in early 2015 when it was being developed and it was launched there in 2016. The UK then started work on it ready for the launch last week.
QSR Media: More generally, how have the new products Subway has been rolling out recently been faring?
Our new products have been performing extremely well, especially our Limited Time Only products as our consumers are always wanting to try something different.
