Honest Burgers launches New Orleans-themed special
It collaborated with The Garden of Eva, a startup that produces pickles and condiments with American Southern heritage.
Honest Burgers launched its first fried chicken special for the year, paying tribute to American South cuisine.
The ‘New Orleans’ is made with free-range buttermilk fried chicken thigh, candied bacon, American cheese, ‘chow chow’ green tomato relish, Bull’s-Eye Louisiana Chipotle hot sauce, ranch mayo and lettuce.
Chow chow is a sweet and tangy mustard-infused relish made from green tomatoes, onions, peppers and any seasonal vegetable.
For the special, the chow chow is made by collaborator Eva Thorne from The Garden of Eva, which produces pickles and condiments with American Southern heritage.
Tom Barton, Co-Founder of Honest Burgers, said: "We first tried Eva’s chow chow at Mission Kitchen and were instantly hit by her passion. The recipe is very close to what Eva and her mother made when she was growing up in the American South. It tastes amazing on pretty much everything. I can’t wait to see it on a burger."
