Honest Burgers' plant-based bacon offering returns
The chain is also set to launch its first house lager.
Honest Burgers announced that its Bacon Plant vegan burger is returning on 10 March.
The move resulted from a petition on Change.org, which got 647 signatures in 48 hours - smashing the initial target of 100. The burger will be available in-restaurant only at all Honest restaurants for the foreseeable future.
"I thought the Bacon Plant petition was going to be a bit of fun. We didn’t know what to expect. Two days later and 600+ signatures...it’s time to give the people what they want,” Honest Burgers co-founder Tom Barton said.
Honest Burgers is also slated to launch its first house lager named 'Burger Beer'.
Developed in collaboration with Brighton-based brewery Laine Brew Co., the drink features notes of light bitterness and malt sweetness, aimed to "complement the flavour profile of a burger." It was developed for six months.
