McDonald's to offer full vegan meal

The upcoming meal will feature The Vegetarian Society-accredited Veggie Dipper.

McDonald’s is set to launch its first fully vegan meal starting 2 January 2020.

The highlight of the upcoming meal is The Vegetarian Society-accredited Veggie Dippers, made with red pepper, rice, sundried tomato pesto and split peas rolled in breadcrumbs.

A vegan Happy Meal version will also be available.

“In the last 12 months we’ve seen an 80% uplift in customers ordering vegetarian options at McDonald’s, so it is time for the brand famous for the dippable McNugget to launch a dippable option for our vegetarian, vegan and flexitarian customers,” McDonald’s UK & Ireland head of food marketing Thomas O’Neill said in a statement.
