Papa John's celebrates latest menu addition with first pizza for bees
The one-inch ‘Beezza’ was made to raise awareness for its partnership with the Bumblebee Conservation Trust.
Papa John’s announced the launch of a new honey-drizzled pizza.
Dubbed ‘The Bee Sting’, the new item combines a hot and spicy base of Amarillo chilli, topped with signature pepperoni, mozzarella, fresh green chilli and a wildflower honey drizzle.
To celebrate, the brand has also created the ‘Beezza’ – a pizza designed exclusively for bees. Papa John’s teamed up with Thom Whitchurch, the brains behind ‘Britain’s first tiny cookery school’, to create the ‘Beezza’ and raise awareness in creating bee friendly areas in gardens, parks and green spaces.
The ‘Beezza’ is less than one inch in diameter, and is made with real Papa John’s dough, based with passata and topped with bee-friendly wild flowers including; Forget Me Nots, Rose Geraniums and sprinkled with a mix of local pollen, rosemary and thyme.
Papa John’s is supporting the work of the Bumblebee Conservation Trust by giving out packs of native wildflower seeds via its social channels, to enable customers to grow plants that attract bees. The brand is also switching their online charity partner to the Bumblebee Conservation Trust starting 15 July to 1 September 2019, to allow customers to donate change from their orders on www.papajohns.co.uk.
