Independent burger chain Fat Hippo opening first London site
This will be Fat Hippo’s fourteenth UK location.
Independent burger chain Fat Hippo is opening its first London location later this year.
The company, who claims to specialise in “roll up your sleeves and get it all over your face food”, is opening their brand new restaurant on Great Eastern Street in Shoreditch.
This will be Fat Hippo’s fourteenth UK location, with additional restaurants opening this year including Cardiff, Glasgow and Birmingham, with several other sites also in negotiations.
Fat Hippo Shoreditch will offer their signature beef and boneless buttermilk chicken burgers. A wide range of vegan, gluten-free and dairy-free options are also available, as well as a value kids’ menu.
Michael Phillips, the company’s managing director who founded Fat Hippo in the North East in 2010, said: “There’s a great burger scene here and we’re thrilled to now be part of it. Our London debut has been a long time coming and we’re delighted that our flagship site in the city will be based on the iconic Great Eastern Street.”
The group also works exclusively with Deliveroo and will be launching on the platform in the capital.
