Intu Lakeside to open 680-seater street food hall
One of the biggest shopping centres in Essex is planning to expand its leisure offerings.
Intu Lakeside announced a £72 million-plan to build a 14,500 sq ft leisure extension that will include an all-new street food market, a new Nickelodeon Adventure centre, Puttshack’s mini golf, a Hollywood Bowl and Flip Out trampoline park. The entertainment complex will be the first of its kind outside London.
The planned street food hall will seek to offer Lakeside shoppers a casual dining experience which includes seven kitchens, a coffee shop, pop-up areas for food trucks and two bars. It will also have two major central London sites in Fulham and Victoria.
“Having The Hall at our new leisure development is great for us at intu Lakeside but also for everyone in Essex,” Howard Oldstein, regional centre director at intu Lakeside, said.
"We truly do want to change the way we do retail by providing better, all-inclusive experience for our customers. As Essex’s biggest shopping centre, we know this brand-new concept will really flourish here and we are excited for its arrival.”
The list of food traders and restaurants will be announced in the coming months.
