Chick’n rebrand, expands its operations by 10 new sites
New dishes, including veggie and vegan options, await customers.
London's popular chicken burger concept Chick'n has announced that it will be rebranding as Chicken Shop in partnership with Soho House, extending its reach to new locations.
As part of the relaunch, the group will refurbish its six existing sites by 28 April; Baker Street and Islington sites will relaunch alongside the brand new Notting Hill branch. The partnership with Soho House will bring its dishes to several popular locations in the capital.
The restaurant aims to have 10 sites under its new brand name by the end of 2022, including both sit-down restaurants and delivery-only kitchens.
Chief Executive John Nelson says, "We have got really exciting plans for the brand," describing the new look branding as having a more urban, funkier feel, and will not be typical QSR, but more like 'fast casual meets QSR.'
Over the past four years, Chick'n founders Carl Clarke and David Wolanski have been experimenting to perfect their fried chicken recipe from their humble beginnings at Latitude Festival. Today, Clarke and Wolanski have teamed up with Soho House to expand their chicken burger concept to more locations in London.
Aside from the popular fried chicken, the business has broadened its scope a little bit in the past year, adding rice and wraps, as well as exploring plant-based and grilled options.
While the original Chicken Shop saw rotisserie chicken take centre stage, the new menu under the partnership will have Chick'n's signature fried chicken and other crowd pleasers including the Straight Up sandwich – seasoned fried chicken between a soft bun with lettuce, buttermilk and herb mayo and pickles; as well as the trademark chicken tenders with sticky Sichuan sauce and house fries.
The restaurant will also launch new dishes. Among the options for veggie and vegan diners is the No Way Gangnam, a spicy plant-based fillet paired with gochujang mayo and kimchi slaw, or the lighter Korean rice box with peppers, kimchi and signature glaze.
"We're very excited about this great partnership and a tasty new name, but as always – our signature food stays the same," says Clarke. "We make, and will continue to make, unbeatable fried chicken. We are Chicken Shop: this is chicken and then some."
