Doner Kebab appoints Mark Treptow as Franchise Director for the USA and Canada
German Doner Kebab has appointed Mark Treptow as its new Franchise Director for the USA and Canada.
With over 25 years of sales experience in franchise development and financial services, Treptow has been instrumental in the management and development of successful brands, both domestically and internationally.
Treptow has worked at Fransmart, a restaurant franchise development firm, as the Senior Director of Development. At Fransmart, he was in charge of the growth of high-performing brands such as Five Guys Burgers, Qdoba, The Halal Guys, and Freshii.
“I am excited to be joining German Doner Kebab and stepping into the role of Franchise Director”, said Mark Treptow. “GDK has secured its position as one of the fastest-growing brands in the UK, opening 39 new restaurants in 2021 and with plans to open a further 78 restaurants this year, it’s a huge achievement."
In August 2021, German Doner Kebab opened its first US location at the American Dream Mall in New Jersey. The North American 2022 development pipeline includes key locations in the USA spanning Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, New Jersey, Houston, and Dallas.
The restaurant has also set its sights on Canada, with plans to open 100 new restaurants over the next ten years following the success of its sites in Surrey, Ottawa, and Downtown Toronto.
“I am looking forward to developing GDK’s legacy in the USA and Canada, establishing strong partnerships with franchisees in key US states and Canadian provinces, and bringing our exciting offering to the Gen Z and Millennial audience," he added.
“Mark brings an array of expertise and talent to our leadership team and we are thrilled to welcome him into the GDK family as we look to build our brand across the US and Canada," added Nigel Belton, Managing Director of German Doner Kebab North America.
