95% of British businesses offer coffee on tap, says research
New research from UK coffee provider rijo42 has analysed the habits of 1,000 British workers, finding that over 95% of professionals have access to a cup of coffee in the workplace.
In addition, 37% of the employees surveyed boasted having a coffee machine to provide café-quality beverages on demand throughout the working day.
According to the study, almost a third (31%) of workers drink at least five cups of coffee each day, with 11% drinking more than five mugs full during the week.
Detailing the popularity of drinks appliances in the workplace, vending machines retain the top spot with a fifth (20%) of businesses having at least one in the office. The study also shows that almost one in ten (8%) workers having use of a bean-to-cup machine – more sophisticated models which grind down whole coffee beans into full-favoured beverages at the push of a button.
The results also highlight that pod coffee machines are growing in popularity as 9% of those asked stated that their organisation has recently invested in these express coffee systems. Sealing freshly ground coffee into compact, air-free pods, these fuss-free machines have grown rapidly in recent years.
