Tea over booze: More than half of millennial tea lovers get tea as liquor alternative

Almost 4 in 10 millennials reduced alcohol intake to save money.

More than 50% of millennial tea lovers sometimes choose to drink tea as an alternative to alcoholic beverages, recent Mintel research showed.

The study also found that 38% who limited their liquor intake due to saving money amidst cost pressures.

Nearly half or 48% of British tea lovers like to be thrifty by bringing their own tea when going outside.

The research, conducted in May 2022, interviewed 1,224 internet users aged 18 years old and above who have consumed and purchased tea in the last month.

The survey also used interviews of 1,952 internet users aged 18 and above who have reduced and limited alcohol consumption in the past year.
